Consultations at the Practice

Consultations with the Doctors are at 10 minute regular intervals and 15 minutes (minimum) with the Practice Nurse.  If you feel you will need longer than usual to discuss your query with the Doctor, this can be arranged but you must inform the receptionist when you make your appointment.

GP surgery times are generally 9am until 11.30am and 3pm until 5.30pm however these may vary.  It is possible that on occasion surgeries may run late due to unforeseen events, in such instances a message will be placed on the electronic message board in the waiting room advising of the delay and the reason for the delay.

Please note that patients will be seen at the time of appointment and not on arrival.  Patients arriving late may not be seen or may need to wait until the end of the surgery.

Please do not ask Doctors and Nurses to write or sign letters or forms during consultation times, this is considered non-NHS work and should be handed in to Reception staff who will follow practice procedure.  We will record the date of receipt and add this to the GP’s workload who will then manage the completion of your form.
